Where do I start? I guess the beginning
is always a good place. I was born and raised in rural North Dakota. Okay,
maybe we should jump forward a few years. Though I’ve been acting for
some time now, it really wasn’t until attending Minot State University
(MSU)
in the early 90s that I started suspecting that acting was my true calling.
After graduating from MSU with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (minors
in Music and Communications Arts), I was still unsure of this crazy idea of
mine so I continued my training at Western Illinois University (WIU)
in pursuit of a Masters of Fine Arts in Acting. Upon completing my training
at WIU, my then fiancée and I moved back to North Dakota, got married
and settled in for a few years.
My professional career has taken me across
the Midwest including stints in North Dakota, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Iowa,
Missouri, Ohio and Illinois. I’ve
been given the opportunity to play roles in a wide array of shows including The
Christmas Schooner (Peter), Children
of Eden (Father), The
Ceiling (Michelangelo) [world premiere], Man of La Mancha (Don
Quixote), Showboat (Ravenal), Forever Plaid (Frankie), Jesus
Christ Superstar (Judas), Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect
Up? (Eddie), The Baker's Wife (Claude), Into
the Woods (Baker & Cinderella’s Prince), Parade (Starnes & Dorsey)
[Chicago premiere], Little Shop of Horrors (Dentist), The
Baker's Wife (Claude), Hello, Dolly! (Cornelius), Joseph
and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Joseph), Comedy of Errors (Duke), Much
Ado About Nothing (Don John), Street Scene (Murrant), Cactus
Flower (Julian), Lend Me a Tenor (Max), Our Country’s
Good (Ralph), Royal Family (Tony), The Crucible (Paris), Noises
Off (Freddie) to name a few.
My wife, DeeAnn, and I relocated to Chicago
in 2003 to allow me the opportunity to more aggressively pursue my
acting career. Without her love and support, I wouldn’t be the person
I am today. In fact, DeeAnn designed this great looking website for me. She's
also a very talented artist in her own right with a great looking website: www.artbydeeann.com.
Thanks, Dee. You're the best.
If you have a project you think I’d be a good candidate for, get
in touch with me. I’d be happy to hear from you.
